Through the lesson of a seed
Unlocking God’s Power
Have you ever decided that today was “the day” you were finally going to get started on something you’ve put off for far too long? One day, I decided that it was about time for me to finally get back in shape. My method of choice was an intense 90-day workout and diet plan. A unique feature of this program was that all the workouts were on video and you just followed along.
On the first morning, my son, daughter, and wife decided that they all wanted to exercise with me. So, the four of us started warming up for our first invigorating workout. We were only about 5 minutes into the video – still in the stretches – when my son (who was 6 at the time) turned to me with great excitement and said, “Hey Dad, LOOK! You almost got muscles. Look at your elbows!”
My wife and I had a good laugh, but my son never understood what was so funny. I didn’t have the heart to break it to him that it doesn’t work that way. Getting fit, losing weight and building muscle doesn’t happen overnight… much less after a few minutes of warming up.
Here’s the lesson…
Imagine what it must have been like to grow up on an ancient Israeli farm. The long winter months have reduced the once plentiful pantries to empty shells and the family is now living on meager rations and dreaming about a loaf of bread, fresh from the oven. Suddenly the rain begins to pour, and the once dusty fields are becoming rivers. The father says to his young son, “Come, it’s time to sow.”
Together they walk out to the barn where the father climbs into the loft and pulls down huge bags of grain. “Father,” the young boy exclaims, “now we can make bread!” “No, my son... this grain is not for eating. Come. I will show you what it is for.” He fills the sack with grain, and they wade into the flooded fields. Then the father does the most incredible thing. He reaches into the sack, pulls out a handful of grain and throws it into the water!
That night at the dinner table, the little boy eats his paltry portion and wonders why his father wasted so much grain. Many weeks will go by before he understands, but one day the water will subside, and the little boy will step outside and behold a miracle.
“Do not hold back”
As you well know, we’ve been directing our efforts into new territories for our African campaign ministry. It has required a full commitment to be totally obedient to God’s great command (in Isaiah 54:2) to . . .
“Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes.”
My dear friend, we are being stretched to new limits. You can be sure that we are driving our stakes even deeper into the foundation of everything this ministry stands for… soul-winning!
And in Jesus’ name, we cannot – and we will not – hold back. We need your prayers and financial support to help strengthen and lengthen our ability to follow God into the amazingly ripe and ready harvest fields.
Please hear our hearts!
We really need you to stretch your faith and ask the Lord what He would have you do to sow a seed into the waters of soul-winning right now. At the same time, please pray and agree in faith with us! We are asking the Lord to specifically, strategically, and systematically direct our steps into these new fields that are ready for harvest NOW.
He alone is the “Lord of the Harvest.” What we are experiencing in Africa is something supernatural. It’s impossible without the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the support of our friends and partners. The mission and mandate that God has placed upon this ministry requires a united team effort of dear friends (like you) who aren’t afraid to stand with us in faith through your prayers and genuine spirit-led financial support. That’s especially true in financially challenging times such as the world is facing now.
Thank you for praying with us. Thank you for exercising your faith with us financially as God gives you seed to sow today.
Stretching our faith for more souls… Together with you!

P.S.As you sow your seed for soul-winning, we are praying that God will also use your seed (as a supernatural tool) to shorten any season of struggle you may be facing – and at the same time, launch a new season of bountiful blessing and harvest into your life. God bless you!
