School of Evangelism 2024
Light in the Darkness
What is happening this year at CfaN is remarkable. Just a few years ago, 50 campaigns in a year would simply have been impossible. If I were still the only evangelist, I couldn’t possibly manage that. Nor would our small team of campaign organizers back then have been able to cope.
But we are seeing the miracle of multiplication before our eyes. This incredible year is only possible because of the fruits of CfaN’s evangelism training. Through Evangelism Bootcamp, Schools of Evangelism and Fire Camps, Holy-Spirit-fueled evangelists are being taught and mentored. Many of these graduates are now working side by side with us, preaching, organizing campaigns and conducting youth campaigns. Seeing them spread their wings and fly is one of my greatest joys!
Training evangelists in Europe
In August and September, the third European School of Evangelism took place in Hanau, Germany. 40 students from across Europe and beyond felt a divine calling to come, be equipped, and dedicate their lives to proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The first three weeks of the SOE were held at C3 Church in Hanau. From Monday to Friday, students were immersed in training, covering various aspects of evangelistic ministry. They delved into topics like "The Healthy Evangelist," "How to Start Your Own Ministry," "Fundraising Strategies," and "Regional Campaign Organizing." During this period, many students experienced personal breakthroughs, finding freedom from fear and stepping into greater spiritual liberty.
A crucial component of the SOE curriculum is practical training in street preaching and one-on-one evangelism. Even before the formal practical sessions began, students were sent out weekly for one-on-one evangelism.
Serving the local churches
One of the key highlights of the first three weeks was the first ever German CfaN SOE Evangelism Workshop. This event, held in collaboration with the students, took place across three different churches in the Frankfurt area. The students demonstrated a deep love for the local church and a passion for equipping believers in evangelism and follow-up.
The final two weeks of SOE, the "Initiation Trip," were held in Berlin. During this phase, students hit the streets daily to share the Gospel through one-on-one evangelism and street preaching. Seven CfaN-trained evangelists from around the world joined as coaches, dedicating their time and expertise to train the students in effective preaching. Over the course of the five-week SOE, we witnessed 112 documented decisions for Christ, numerous healings, and countless lives forever transformed.
Testimony
We were in an area where many drug addicts gathered. A young, beautiful woman, clearly under the influence, approached us. We spoke to her, offering her a tissue, and she left soon after. Later, we crossed paths again, and I felt a strong urge to go back to her. She was about to inject heroin, and I looked deeply into her eyes, telling her, ‘I love you. I love you, and not just me—Jesus loves you too. Today, you have the chance to change your life.’ She started paying more attention, though she still wanted to take the heroin. At that moment, I gently told her, ‘No, because Jesus is here with you.’ Miraculously, the needle broke right then. I reminded her, 'Jesus loves you.' She responded, saying that no one had ever shown her such love before, and she could feel it deeply. I asked her, ‘Do you want to be free from heroin and crack, and to leave the streets behind?’ She said she did – she longed to be free and to see her son again. We both cried together as we prayed for her freedom from addiction. In that moment, she said all her pain had left, and she gave her life to Jesus.

City of Light
The culmination of the Initiation was “City of Light”, a three-night Gospel Campaign in three different locations right in the heart of Berlin. Led by Lukas Repert (CfaN SOE Director – Europe) the campaign was a collaboration between GodsPower, CfaN and over 30 local churches. The campaign included a Kids’ Festival daily and 22,500 people heard the Gospel!
Lukas shared:
“The vision for this event was born two years ago. We had a heart to see Berlin, our capital, touched by the power of the Gospel. We received words that an awakening would start in Berlin and set the tone for the whole nation. It’s one of the darkest places in Germany, but we went there to make a difference, to let the light of Jesus shine. That's why this event was called "City of Light" – because Jesus' light shines everywhere. Berlin will no longer be a place of darkness, but a place of light, in Jesus' name.
In the heart of Berlin
The three locations were important. Night One was in front of thePergamon Museum, where the actual throne of Pergamon, mentioned in the Bible as the "throne of Satan," is located. It's a significant stronghold, and the only open field near the museum is where we went for the first night. This place is also where Berlin was founded, and it’s on the same peninsula as the new "House of One," where all religions are supposed to worship the same God. So, we were right in the heart of the enemy's territory when we started the campaign. The first night was a real fight. Normally, the sun sets at 8 PM, but it got pitch dark by 6 PM when we started, and it poured rain. But the following nights were different!
On Night Two, we were at Alexanderplatz, one of the four busiest squares in Europe. Around 360,000 people pass through on an average Sunday, and we had our campaign right there. It’s an almost impossible place to get, but we did it.
Night Three was at the Brandenburg Gate, the main division between East and West Germany. Several companies told me that in over 20 years, not even secular events have been allowed on that side of the gate. But we got a permit through the favor of God and were able to hold the event there. Wonderfully, the vast majority of the people who got saved made a first-time decision for Jesus – we really reached the lost. And every church who participated welcomed new believers that week!”
Are you next?
These SOE students did not have to wait until after graduation to make a difference. Already while training, they have brought people to salvation, seen miracles of healing, and had a significant impact on the unity and preparedness of the churches they’ve been working with.
That could be you! Applications are open for the next School of Evangelism in Europe (26 May – 6 July 2025). If you feel the Lord tugging on your heart, leading you to be an evangelist, come! Don’t let anything hold you back – if God calls you, He also makes a way for you.
Together with you for the Gospel,
Evangelist Daniel Kolenda
