The Voice of the Good Shepherd
Have you ever wondered if God is still speaking today?
Jesus said in John 10, “But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep…the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers” (John 10:2–5, NKJV).
The reality is, if you’re truly a part of His flock, you’ve been called by the voice of the Good Shepherd. That means you’ve already heard His voice.
Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke once said, “It would be hard to find a line of Scripture on which to build a doctrine of a silent God. It is not at all the Bible picture. People called on God because that is how they knew Him—a God who can be heard. A silent heaven is frightening: ‘If you remain silent, I will be like those who have gone down to the pit,’ the Psalmist cried (Psalm 28:1).”
My friend, without the ability to hear God’s voice, knowing God and knowing His will would actually be impossible. Whether you know it or not, God is speaking to you today. It is His voice that called you to salvation and it’s that same voice that will lead you throughout the rest of your life.
