
More than all we ask!
We pray for the sick and afflicted at every single CfaN meeting. This is not an optional extra, or some kind of publicity gimmick. Healing the sick and delivering the demon-oppressed was and is part and parcel of Jesus’ ministry on earth. In the Gospels, we read often that “He had compassion on them and healed their sick” (Matthew 14:14). And that has not changed one bit!
When we pray for the sick, we are giving God the floor. It’s up to Him to come in power to set the captives free. It’s up to Him to prove that He is real, He is alive, and He is full of love. As people receive their miracles, the faith of others is built up, until there’s an overwhelming expectation that God will move. We see this kind of faith in action all the time at Gospel Campaigns in Africa. I love “testimony time” during a Gospel Campaign – it’s such a powerful reminder that God does not save crowds of people. He saves individuals, each with their own story, each with their own unique needs.
Today, I want to share a few testimonies with you, all of which have been personally verified by members of our team. Truly, “He is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us” (Ephesians 3:16).
Pastor McHenry sees the light
Pastor McHenry had suffered with uncontrollable, excruciating eye pain for over two years. He couldn’t leave the house without dark glasses on, because any light at all would cause his eyes to blink uncontrollably and pour with tears. His wife described how his driving was “like someone who is learning” because he had to continually stop and wait for his eyes to clear.
Then he saw adverts for a CfaN Gospel Campaign going up all over Owerri, the city where he lives. “I saw the adverts all over town and when I saw the posters, I told my wife ‘This is going to be great.’ I had a conviction. I heard a voice tell me, ‘Pastor McHenry, go to that campaign. God is waiting for you there with the miracle for your eyes.’”
In faith, Pastor McHenry attended the campaign that night. As Evangelist Kolenda was praying for the sick, he covered his eyes with his fingers. But the first thing that happened was that the pain intensified greatly! Pastor McHenry said to himself, “Satan, you are fighting your last battle.”
As the prayer ended, he removed his hand, and it was as if scales feel from his eyes. He continued, “I started glorifying God in my heart, and I believed I would get an opportunity to testify.”
Pastor McHenry ran to the stage, where he joyously looked right at the big, bright stage lights with no pain, his eyes and vision completely clear, and gave all the glory to Jesus.
No more sacrifices to idols

Evangelist Jared Horton shared a wonderful testimony about an encounter he had with a man deeply involved in occult practices in Nigeria. In Jared’s words:
In Abeokuta, we heard about the Olumo Rock. It's one of the most famous tourist attractions in Nigeria. We were just touring around, learning what was taking place and then they said, “In the back is where they do sacrifices.” I said, “Wow, let's go and see these people. I want to see what they're doing.” But the security guards and everybody told me, “No, it's not good. We cannot go there. So, we went around the other side of the rock, right up to the very top.
As we were about to go back down, I looked around the rock and asked, “Is that where they do the sacrifices?” And they said yes, that's the place. I said, “Well, let's go!” And so the tour guide took me back to the place where they do modern day sacrifices. Back there were some people sitting on benches and I just introduced myself to everybody. That’s where I met Oluwale Olaniyan.
I said, “Are you the gentleman that does sacrifices here?” and he said, “Yes.” Looking at the altar, I saw many different items can represent things that people want. There was also a goat that had just been sacrificed there in a round, grey concrete altar with a hole in the bottom of it.
I said, “Oluwale, I pray too. This morning, I prayed for a man, and his blind eye was opened – he was healed. If you want to pray and see results, you need to start praying to the one true God.”
I continued, “But before we pray, you need to count the cost. You need to make sure this is something you truly want to do. Because when you pray this prayer, you’re saying that you are going to repent – you’re going to turn away from serving other gods. The Bible says, ‘Thou shalt have no other gods before me.’ Are you ready to do this? Are you ready to stop?”
He hesitated for a moment, then said, “I… I will. I will just stop it. I will stop it. I want Jesus in my heart.”
I asked, “Are you saying yes? You will follow Him?”
He agreed. Then I turned to the others and asked, “Is there anyone else here who wants to get right with God? Do you want Jesus to come into your life?”
I led them in a prayer of salvation, asking the Lord to forgive us of our sins. That day, about ten people gave their lives to Jesus. I was very busy, praying alongside them, saying, “Jesus, come into my heart.”
A few weeks later, I was able to reconnect with Oluwale. He was excited about the decision he had made. One of the questions I asked him was, “Oluwale, have you made any sacrifices?”
He responded, “Actually, no one has even asked me to make a sacrifice since I gave my life to Jesus. It’s different now. Jesus is different. When you call on Him, He answers you. Before, when I called on other gods, I had to give something in exchange for an answer. But with Jesus, it’s free.”
I hadn’t realized the full impact this had on Oluwale’s life, but he was truly a changed man. He said, “I’m very happy. My home is no longer filled with darkness. My heart is full of joy. Now, I believe in Jesus. My family believes in Jesus.”
30 Years of Healing
When CfaN returned to Warri, Nigeria in 2018, a woman came to the front to testify of her miracle healing. But she was not there to speak about something that had just happened. Ochuko Eboh had returned to give God the glory for a miracle healing she received over thirty years ago!
From the stage, Ochuko shared that she had been in a terrible motorcycle accident in 1980 that left her with multiple broken bones all over her body. They didn’t heal right, and for the next nine years, she suffered terribly.
Then, in 1989, she came to hear Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke preach at a CfaN Gospel Campaign. She was touched when he said that this healing he was talking about did not require money, nor anything else. It was a free gift from God. The preacher said, “If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will move mountains. Even if you have broken bones, God will give you new bones today.”
Ochuko’s heart was stirred. She continued, “Thankfully, when I heard the Word, my faith grew, and I said, ‘God, I will not leave the campaign grounds until I have my healing.’ When the preacher said, ‘Do what you could not do before,’ I stood up and started doing all the things I could not do for nine years. I was walking, I was jumping, I was dancing, I was healed! I got up and I just ran like never before.”
Normally, Evangelist Kolenda preaches the Gospel first and then prays for the sick. But that night, he felt the Holy Spirit moving and instead prayed for the sick right there and then, with Mama Ochuko praying beside him – a visible, undeniable testament to God’s healing power, all these years later.
I pray that, as you’ve read these testimonies, your own faith is rising! Whatever the need in your life today – financial, family, career, health – God is able to do “abundantly more than all we can ask or imagine”!
