Reinhard Bonnke Farewell Gospel Campaign – Day 4
With the Holy Spirit and with fire
Saturday was indeed “Holy Spirit Day”! From early morning, the final session of the Fire Conference, to late at night, at the great campaign meeting, it was the power and fire of the Holy Spirit taking center stage.
Before Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke preached the last session of the “Passing the Torch” Fire Conference, Rev. John Darku introduced Reinhard’s new book, “Holy Spirit: Are we Flammable or Fireproof?” which will be given to all conference delegates as soon as the shipment is released from the harbor. Evangelist Bonnke then shared how the torch for CfaN has already been passed to Daniel Kolenda, and called him forward to receive a special prayer for the releasing of God’s blessing on this new season for CfaN.

Evangelist Bonnke started his message with Matthew 3:11: “He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire”. He explained that the Greek work “baptizo” has its origin in the business of dyeing fabric, where the fabric is immersed and takes on the characteristics of the dye. In the same way, will we take on the characteristics of Jesus.
He also shared the prophecy that he had received for this meeting: “Your ministry is like a chariot in the kingdom of God. The Holy Spirit wants to get on board and take over so that each chariot will be renewed.”
Reinhard Bonnke, Daniel Kolenda, Peter Vandenberg and John Darku prayed for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and the passing of the torch. They commissioned the delegates to take the gospel to all countries of Africa. This was received with great rejoicing, and was followed by intense prayer throughout the huge crowd.

As it neared time to start the evening meeting, the sense of anticipation was palpable. Once again, the crowd had expanded massively compared to the previous night, and hundreds of thousands lifted their voices in jubilant praise and danced in victory as witchcraft items were burnt in drums.
Evangelist Daniel Kolenda preached a fiery message from Luke 9, drawing everyone into the moving story of Zacchaeus, a man who was not only emotionally touched by Jesus, but who promised restitution to all those he had robbed. Daniel told us that restitution is important, to enter into God’s blessings. We must make what is wrong right again.
As many thousands responded to the salvation call, Daniel emphasized the importance of new believers joining churches quickly. But, glorious as these conversions were, the night was far from over.
It was time for Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke to speak once more from Acts 1:8: “… you will receive power …” Our human strength is not enough! The blood of Jesus has made us worthy to receive the Holy Spirit, and we reach out in faith to take this gift. As he began to pray for the baptism of the Holy Spirit, a might shout of prayer went up from hundreds of thousands of mouths, crying, “Hallelujah, hallelujah!” For many minutes, the Spirit of God swept through the crowd, igniting intense prayer and spiritual tongues everywhere on the field.
More blessing was to follow, as Daniel Kolenda prayed for the sick, receiving a word of knowledge for barren women and those suffering with ulcers. After some worship, he challenged the audience to check themselves for evidence of their healing. Many people waved to signal that they had been healed. Some of them came forward to testify.
- A mother came up with her teenage son. She told us that she had a problem with a pregnancy years ago, was operated on and told by doctors that her womb was destroyed. At a Gospel campaign many years ago, Reinhard Bonnke prayed for women who couldn’t have children - and today she presented her son, Precious.
- A man told us that he was diagnosed with Angina pectoris and had constant chest pain for five years. He even went to Ghana for help. During prayer, all pain left him.
- Another man had an ulcer and had to take drugs three times a day for three months already. Today, he didn’t need the drugs anymore and was completely pain-free.
- A woman had a cyst in her abdomen. After prayer on Thursday, all pain was gone. She went for an exam at the hospital yesterday and the doctors couldn’t find any trace of it.
