Only Jesus
The campaign started tonight with a bang. A government representative was sent to open the meeting and read a very diplomatic speech about how we (the Christians) were joining our prayers with those in the mosques and temples for Cameroon. This, he believed, was the answer for the problems of the nation. When I finally got the microphone, I thanked the representative for his kind words, but respectfully disagreed with him. I told the people that I am also a representative and I have come in the name above all names the only name given under heaven whereby men might be saved – the name of Jesus. Only Jesus is the answer for Cameroon. Every other solution is a dead-end road.
The invitation for salvation was enormous. Many thousands surrendered their lives to Christ and so many cripples were healed I had to take several at a time. Also, a young man with an injured arm was so healed he began doing pushups on the platform. A woman who was crippled from rheumatism was healed along with a boy who had never walked in his life. The atmosphere is electric. I can tell this will be a historic week for Douala!
